Bitcoin Treasury Capital to pay Europe’s first BTC-backed dividend on August 19

A Stockholm-based company is about to do something no European firm has done before: pay a dividend backed by Bitcoin. Bitcoin Treasury Capital AB, known as BTC AB, has scheduled its inaugural preferred stock dividend for August 19, delivering SEK 1.00 per share to holders of its BTC PREF security. The payment represents the first monthly installment of a fixed 10% annual dividend, a structure designed to lure yield-hungry investors into the Bitcoin treasury orbit without forcing them to stomach the full volatility of spot BTC exposure. How the structure works BTC AB’s preferred shares, trading under the ticker BTC PREF on Sweden’s Spotlight Stock Market, began trading on July 20. The structure is straightforward: holders receive a predictable monthly payout, while the company uses proceeds from the preferred share issuance to accumulate more Bitcoin for its treasury. Common shares, which trade under BTC-B.ST, represent direct exposure to the company’s Bitcoin holdings.
