Bitcoin.com integrates USDU, the UAE’s first central bank-registered dollar stablecoin, into its wallet

Bitcoin.com has added USDU, the first US dollar-backed stablecoin registered with the Central Bank of the UAE, to its self-custodial wallet on both web and mobile. The integration, announced on August 19, 2026, represents a partnership with Universal Digital Intl. Limited and gives Bitcoin.com’s user base the ability to hold, send, and receive USDU as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. Until now, USDU has lived primarily in institutional corridors. Its previous integration, a June 2026 deal with AI Financial Corporation, targeted professional clients. This is the stablecoin’s first meaningful push into retail territory, and it chose one of crypto’s longest-running consumer wallet brands to do it. What USDU actually is USDU received its registration from the Central Bank of the UAE on January 29, 2026, making it the first and, as of now, only USD-backed stablecoin authorized by the CBUAE. It operates as a Foreign Payment Token under the country’s Payment Token Services Regulation.
