Bilibili Gaming signs Anaks as new head coach for its Valorant roster

Bilibili Gaming is bringing in Korean coach Anaks as the new head coach of its Valorant squad.

The hiring follows BLG’s decision to part ways with previous head coach Muggle, whose roughly six-month tenure ended in early June 2026 after results failed to match expectations.

What went wrong under Muggle

BLG’s trajectory under Muggle, also known as Tang Shijun, tells a clear story of decline.

The team managed a fourth-place finish at the VCT China Kickoff tournament. By Stage 1, BLG had slid to a ninth-tenth place finish. The Esports World Cup performance added another layer of disappointment.

Muggle was released around June 3, 2026, ending a stint that began approximately six months prior.

Who is Anaks

Anaks’ most notable recent role was as head coach for JD Gaming during the 2024 Stage 2 season. Before that, he held positions with both MARU Gaming and DRX. He began his coaching career in 2022 after playing in the early Korean Valorant scene.

As of late June 2026, there had been no official confirmation from BLG regarding Anaks’ appointment, with reports of the signing emerging as early as May 23, 2026.

BLG’s broader ambitions

Bilibili Gaming is the esports division of Bilibili.com, fielding competitive rosters across multiple titles including League of Legends. BLG entered the Valorant landscape in February 2023.

The VCT China region has grown increasingly competitive, and BLG’s ninth-tenth place finish in Stage 1 under Muggle prompted the organization to seek outside coaching rather than promoting from within or making lateral moves.
