Barcelona plans talks with forward Bradley Barcola

Barcelona is making its move for one of Ligue 1’s most electrifying young forwards. The club has opened a line of communication with the camp of PSG’s Bradley Barcola, a 23-year-old winger whose combination of pace, creativity, and goal threat has made him one of the most coveted attackers in European football.

Sporting director Deco has been in touch with Barcola’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, to explore whether a deal is feasible. No formal offer has landed on PSG’s desk yet, but the groundwork is being laid for what could become one of the summer’s marquee transfers.

The price tag problem

PSG has already turned down a bid reported to be in the range of €50 million. PSG values Barcola somewhere between €70 million and €95 million, and even the low end represents a significant outlay for Barcelona.

Barcola’s contract runs through 2028, which gives PSG substantial leverage. But extension talks between Barcola and PSG have stalled, which has opened a window for potential suitors.

Why Barcola fits the Barcelona puzzle

Barcola’s numbers during the 2025-26 season tell a compelling story. He’s recorded 13 goals and 7 assists for PSG, production that places him among the most dangerous wide forwards in Europe’s top five leagues.

The fact that he’s only 23 means Barcelona wouldn’t just be buying production for next season but investing in a player who could anchor their attack for years to come.

Competition from the Premier League

Barcelona is not the only club circling. Arsenal and Liverpool have both been monitoring Barcola’s situation, and the Premier League’s financial firepower makes either club a credible threat in any bidding war.

The 2026 World Cup adds another variable to the timeline. A strong tournament performance from Barcola could inflate his price tag further, making a pre-World Cup deal more attractive for any buying club. That would explain why Deco is engaging now rather than waiting.

A deal in the €70–95 million range would be one of Barcelona’s largest transfer outlays in recent memory, and would need to be balanced against other squad needs and financial fair play considerations.
