B.Grimm Power plans 250 MW data center with new overseas partner

B.Grimm Power, one of Thailand’s best-known power producers, plans to invest in a new 250-megawatt data center alongside an overseas partner it has not yet named. The project lifts the company’s data center capacity target to 500 MW by 2030. Only a month earlier, that goal sat at 300 MW. Chairman Harald Link tied the decision directly to surging data center demand driven by artificial intelligence. What B.Grimm is building B.Grimm is also exploring roughly 200 MW of data center developments in South Korea and Japan. These remain under study rather than committed. B.Grimm has an existing joint venture with Digital Edge, a Singapore-based data center operator. The two are developing a hyperscale campus in Chonburi, inside Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). That campus is designed with an initial capacity of around 96 to 100 MW. It is backed by an $880 million green loan, meaning financing tied to environmental and sustainability criteria.
