Anthropic’s Claude for Government is now generally available

Anthropic has made Claude for Government generally available. The version of its AI models built for US government agencies is no longer a pilot, a preview, or a beta. What Claude for Government actually is Claude for Government, also called Claude Gov or C4G, is a tailored version of Anthropic’s Claude models. It is aimed squarely at US government agencies. Its core selling point is compliance. The product is built around the strict security controls that agencies need before they let software near classified information. According to the research findings, federal entities have already put the models to work on classified tasks. Those include intelligence analysis and threat assessments. A phased rollout, one step at a time June 2025: Anthropic introduced dedicated Claude Gov models for classified US government use cases. August 2025: The models landed on the US General Services Administration (GSA) schedule. The price was $1 per agency for a year. The $1 price tag made the offering available to all three branches of the federal government. Executive, legislative, and judicial agencies could all sign up.
