Anthropic nears $1T valuation after raising $65B in largest private AI round ever

Anthropic just closed a $65 billion Series H funding round, valuing the AI company at $965 billion. The round, completed on May 28, 2026, stands as the largest private AI funding event on record. It was led by Altimeter Capital and Sequoia Capital, with Capital Group also participating. An additional $15 billion in commitments came from hyperscaler partners, including Amazon. The company’s annualized revenue run rate has crossed $47 billion.

The numbers behind the ascent

Anthropic reported Q1 revenue of $4.8 billion, and Q2 is projected to hit $10.9 billion. That’s roughly 130% sequential growth in a single quarter.

Anthropic has been aggressively locking down the infrastructure needed to train and deploy models at scale. The company struck a deal with Amazon for up to 5 GW of power capacity. Partnerships with Google and Broadcom provide TPU access, while SpaceX is supplying GPU resources.

On the product side, Anthropic launched Claude Opus 4.8 and announced plans for Mythos-class models. The Mythos line is notable for its emphasis on identifying security vulnerabilities, particularly in crypto and DeFi protocols.

Crypto’s unauthorized Anthropic problem

As Anthropic’s valuation skyrocketed, a parallel market for tokenized exposure to its equity emerged on platforms like Solana. PreStocks, a Solana-based platform, listed an ANTHROPIC token that purported to give holders synthetic exposure to the company’s shares. Anthropic issued warnings about unauthorized share-transfer structures, telling the crypto market that these tokens had no legitimate connection to its actual equity. The ANTHROPIC token on PreStocks dropped sharply following the warnings.

What this means for investors

Amazon’s involvement, both as a cloud partner and investor, suggests that the biggest infrastructure players view Anthropic’s models as essential to their own product roadmaps.

Anthropic’s Mythos-class models targeting smart contract vulnerabilities suggest that institutional demand for AI-powered security auditing is real and growing.

The ANTHROPIC token blowup on PreStocks is a cautionary tale about synthetic exposure products. Investors holding these instruments carry not just market risk but legal and structural risk. Platforms offering unauthorized equity exposure are likely to face increasing scrutiny from both the companies involved and regulators.
