A post circulating on X this week said Amazon plans to sell $8 billion of Nvidia chips to investors. No credible source has verified that claim. What the public record does show runs in roughly the opposite direction. Amazon Web Services has committed to buying and deploying more than 3 million Nvidia GPUs. What is actually on the books The confirmed story starts on March 19, 2026. That day, Nvidia confirmed AWS would receive 1 million GPUs by the end of 2027, with sales beginning that year. Then came the sequel. On August 26, 2026, AWS committed to purchase an additional 2 million Nvidia GPUs for deployment across 2027 and 2028. The agreements also go beyond graphics processors. Nvidia’s supply deals with AWS cover broader infrastructure, including networking gear, Vera CPUs and robotics. Financial terms have not been disclosed. Neither company has put a public price tag on the arrangement. Nvidia executives have said demand for these chips has outpaced their earlier expectations.
