Amazon expands Louisiana data center investment to $18B with third campus

Amazon is bumping its data center commitment in Louisiana from $12 billion to $18 billion, adding a third campus to what was already shaping up to be one of the largest single-state infrastructure investments in the company’s history. The additional $6 billion will fund a facility at the Resilient Tech Park in Shreveport, joining the two campuses Amazon announced in February 2026 across Caddo and Bossier Parishes. From $12B to $18B Amazon’s original February 23, 2026 announcement was already massive. A $12 billion commitment to build what the company’s Chief Global Affairs Officer described as “next-generation data center campuses” in northwest Louisiana, designed to handle surging AWS workloads driven by AI and cloud computing demand. That initial plan called for roughly 540 full-time jobs directly, plus an estimated 1,700 additional positions in supporting trades like electrical work, HVAC, and security.
