AI agents just got a direct line into one of DeFi’s largest credit markets. Agents can now connect their MetaMask Agent Wallet to the Aave MCP, a pairing designed to link Aave’s lending infrastructure with the growing world of agentic finance. How the plumbing works Aave Labs launched its Model Context Protocol server on September 8, 2026. It lives at mcp.aave.com and serves as the interface between AI agents and the Aave ecosystem. The coverage is broad. The server pulls information from Aave V3, which runs on 21 chains, and from Aave V4, which supports Ethereum and Avalanche. It ships with approximately 40 tools. Those tools let agents read protocol data, simulate actions before committing to them, and prepare transactions for managing positions across both versions. The MCP server is non-custodial, so every action it prepares comes back as an unsigned transaction. Nothing moves until that signature lands.
