A Bitcoin address that had not touched its original stash since July 30, 2010, moved 100.02 BTC on October 7, 2026. That ends a stretch of more than 16 years of silence. When those coins first landed, the whole pile was worth about $6. At the time of the transfer, with Bitcoin trading near $82,500, the same coins were valued at roughly $8.5 million. What actually moved The coins came from mining rewards earned in July 2010. Galaxy Research flagged the transfer and traced the coins across the blockchain. CoinDesk confirmed that the funds were mined in July 2010. The owner bundled the old unspent transaction outputs, known as UTXOs, with several smaller deposits the address had received later. The combined balance was then split into two fresh addresses. One received 10 BTC. The other received approximately 90.02 BTC. Shortly after the transfer, both new addresses stayed untouched. None of the coins had been sent to an exchange or used for anything else. A wallet with a strange history This address was not completely asleep for 16 years. It spent other coins in 2015, 2017, and 2018. Through all three of those episodes, the 2010 mining rewards sat in place. No link to Satoshi Nakamoto...
